How to Choose a Castor
WHEN DECIDING ON A CASTOR
Castors in this catalogue are listed with the most popular wheel for that series. Alongside the specifications for these castors is a list of alternative wheels that can be fitted to the series. To confirm sizes and load ratings please refer to wheel pages. The load rating of the castor that you select will be determined by comparing the load rating of the bracket and the wheel, and selecting the lowest of the two load ratings.
GUIDELINES
- use soft tread for imperfect floors
- for infrequent use – use hard tread wheels maximum trolley load should not exceed 3x
- the castor nominal load capacity
- for intensive use – maximum trolley load should not exceed 2x the castor nominal load
- capacity bearings will make the wheel easier to move
